  3. Teres Minor:
    • Origin: Arises from the lateral border of the scapula.
    • Insertion: Attaches to the greater tubercle of the humerus.
    • Role: Also contributes to external rotation of the arm.
    Stability in Overhead Motion: The teres minor works in conjunction with the infraspinatus to create a force couple that resists internal rotation during overhead movements, promoting joint centration.
  4. Subscapularis:
    • Origin: Originates from the subscapular fossa of the scapula.
    • Insertion: Inserts into the lesser tubercle of the humerus.
    • Role: Mainly responsible for internal rotation of the arm.
    Stability in Overhead Motion: The subscapularis acts to counter external rotation forces during overhead activities, helping to maintain centration of the glenohumeral joint and preventing excessive external rotation.
